Data Import and Export

Sometimes, a direct data transfer, like with the Data Pump tool, isn't possible. You need to import data from an external source, or you simply want to export data for other purposes.

Database Workbench has got you covered, with both import and export tools, it's easy to get your data into the database or your data into a file.

Data Export Wizard

You can export data data using the Data Export Wizard or the Export Resultset. functionality in the SQL Editor. Additional quick export from the Database Navigator is available using the context menu on tables and views.

Select a file type, enter or select the available options and select which columns you want to export. A few clicks and you're done: the data is in the file.

In the case of a text based output format, it's also possible to export to the clipboard or Script Editor, which makes it easy to quickly use the exported data elsewhere.

Data Import Wizard

You can import data into tables using the Data Import Wizard. When importing, select a file and you'll get additional options available.

When importing a CSV file, there's options for column separator, text separator, date format and so on. Very large files (larger than 2GB) are supported.
