The download package for registered customers include an executable called FBTMLoggerSvc2.exe. This is a Windows Service based application to log parsed trace data into the FB TraceManager 2 database FBTM2.fdb. This allows you to capture and store parsed trace data without running FB TraceManager 2 in the background.
Requirements / Pre-requisites
| • | A time-restricted (trial) version is included in the FB TraceManager 2 download package for registered customers. |
| • | Must be licensed separately. |
| • | Must be locally installed to FB TraceManager 2, so there is no way to run FBTMLoggerSvc2 on a different machine without having FB TraceManager 2 Standard Edition or Enterprise Edition installed. |
| • | Local administrative privileges for administrating (install, uninstall, ...) the Windows service. |
| • | Uses the FB TraceManager 2 product database FBTM2.fdb for reading project configurations. |
Features
| • | Receive, parse and store trace data without running FB TraceManager 2 in the background. |
| • | Multiple instances supported. Ideally, one instance per FB TraceManager 2 project. |
| • | Reusable Windows service configuration on a per project-base. |
| • | Easy-to-use administration interface in the Register Project wizard. Not available in the Lite Edition. |
Limitations
| • | Due to the nature of a Windows Service application, no Trace Data Visualization supported. FBTMLoggerSvc2 is designed as an additional/optional way for pure parsed trace data storage. |
| • | Currently no Event Processing invocation. |
