The Data Import Wizard - Database > Import Data - is an easy to use tool to import file data. To import data that can be accessed via ADO or ODBC, better use the Data Pump tool which has a lot more possibilities.
The first thing you need to do is select a source format and file name, or use an existing template you created earlier. You can load templates via the Template button on the bottom left.

The options you get when clicking the Next button are dependent on the format selected.
For example, the CSV format shows an options page like this. When you modify the options, you'll see the changes in detected columns in the preview grid immediately.

The next page allows you to select a target table and map specific detected columns to table columns.
The last page shows you a summary and allows you to save your current import settings to a template for later re-use.
