Empty Tables

Previous  Index  Next  How To Use

The Empty Tables tool can be used to remove the data from one, multiple or all tables in a database in a specific order.

You can use the Determine Table Order button to order all or the selected tables according to foreign key constraints defined in the database. Alternatively, using the up/down buttons you can order the tables yourself.

The Empty Tables tool includes a filter box. If you use the Select All or Select None buttons on a filtered list, only these items will be selected or deselected when a filter is active.

Once you've established the order and the tables to remove the data from, you can use the Start Emptying button to start the deletion process. The Cancel button will become enabled and can be used to stop the process, which will be done as soon as possible, after a table has been emptied.

After the process has finished, you can Commit or Rollback the transaction that was used to delete the data.

If you fail to finish the transaction yourself, the tool will rollback the transaction when closed.
