Filter Boxes

Top  Previous  Next

Many tools in Database Workbench that have a list of database objects, include a "filter box".

A filter box can be used to lower the number of objects in the list. The object names will be filtered based on the text in the box, if the name contains the filter text, the object passes the filter and is shown in the list. You can enter multiple filters separated by the ";" character.

If items are found, the box will be colored green (like below), if none are found, it will be red, it will be yellowish if the text has changed but the filter hasn't been applied yet. Depending on the tool, you have to use the enter-key to apply the filter.

In the above example, any object with a name that contains "ord" or "cust" will be shown. Removing the text will clear the filter, alternatively, the red X-button can be used to clear the filter and show all items in the list.
