In order to register a Sybase Anywhere server, you need to fill out the dialog below, reached via the Enterprise Manager and the Register Server button.
Register a Sybase Anywhere Server
Database Workbench needs the following information:
Hostname |
Hostname or IP address of the machine where the Sybase Anywhere server process is running. |
Alias |
An user-defined alias name for the hostname - this is only used inside Database Workbench. |
Port |
The port at which the server process is listening for connections. |
Engine |
The engine instance name. |
Username |
The default username for databases. |
Password |
The password for the username given. |
If you click OK, Database Workbench will test the connection - if this succeeds, the server will be registered and added to the Servers node in the Enterprise Manager.
Under Visible Databases you can filter the list of database you see in the Enterprise Manager, this list will fill itself after the connection succeeds.
