Installing FB TraceManager 2 is easily done by running the available installer. The installer package also includes and installs a copy of the Firebird 2.5.0 32-bit embedded engine into the chosen application installation directory, which is used to access the included FBTM2.fdb database for handling master data (registered servers, projects, ...) and logged trace data. As FBTM2.fdb is a regular Firebird 2.5 database, you can also use this database with a "real" Firebird 2.5 server, if you have one installed. In this case, make sure that you have a Firebird user FBTM with password fbtm created.

Beside the installation directory, FB TraceManager 2 also uses the user-specific application directory for storing the FBTM2.fdb database, report/analysis files, setting files. For example, on Windows 7, this is:

C:\Users\<account>\AppData\Roaming\FB TraceManager 2

If you are using the Lite Edition, then a subdirectory "FB TraceManager 2 Lite" is used.
